15 of the top 100 are individual people with an address in China, not companies. Between them they filed 823 applications in 2023, often dozens each for invented words with no meaning in English. That pattern is typical of sellers who need a registered brand to sell on online marketplaces such as Amazon, where a trademark, even a pending application, unlocks brand protection tools.
