Why these specifically
Most trademark searches you'll find online answer the wrong question. They show you a list of similar marks, leaving you to figure out whether each one matters. These tools answer the questions you actually have when you're filing:
- "Which Nice classes apply to my business?" The Nice system has 45 classes; picking the right ones costs roughly $350/class in USPTO fees and limits where your protection actually applies. The class recommender gets this right with reasoning.
- "Is my proposed name likely to be refused?" Most refusals happen under §2(d) likelihood-of-confusion. Risk assessment scores this directly against the full registered corpus, weighted by status.
- "What does this status code mean / what should I do next?" USPTO's 96 status codes and their procedural implications are opaque. Filing Strategy Q&A answers in plain English.
- "Is my proposed logo too similar to an existing one?" Text similarity isn't enough for design marks. Logo Similarity finds visually related marks across millions of images.
- "When do I have to renew?" A registration is cancelled if you miss the Section 8 (year 5–6) or Section 9 (year 9–10) deadline. The renewal tracker computes every window from your registration date and emails you ahead of each one.
How they're built
Tools run on the same daily-refreshed USPTO bulk data and WIPO Madrid feed that power every report on this site. Each tool's results include an attorney-style explanation grounded in the specific marks found, not generic advice. Results are cached for 24 hours so identical queries are near-instant.
Not legal advice
These tools surface information and run analyses; they don't replace a trademark attorney. For high-stakes filings (substantial commercial value, contested marks, multi-class portfolios), engage real counsel. Use these tools as the first-pass filter that gets you to a productive attorney conversation faster.
