Trademark availability check
Check trademark availability for a brand name and logo in one go: a brand name checker against the U.S. and international registers in your classes, a logo check against 3.8 million registered logos, and domain and social handle availability, with one verdict at the top. Free, no account.
Data scope: USPTO federal register (14.3 million records) and WIPO's Madrid international register for names and logos; 23 domain TLDs and 22 social/creator platforms for availability. Not covered: state registers, EU marks filed directly at EUIPO, unregistered common-law marks. A clean result is a strong signal, not a clearance opinion.
What one check covers
- Name conflicts. Fuzzy and phonetic similarity against 14.3 million USPTO records and 611,000 international (Madrid) registrations, restricted to your classes and weighted by whether each mark is live, pending or dead. Scored 0–100 with attorney-style reasoning and the closest marks.
- Logo conflicts. Your artwork against 3.8 million registered logos on both registers, three ways: image structure, what the image depicts, and the wording inside it.
- Availability. 23 domain extensions and 22 social and creator platforms, live, plus identical or similar marks already on the USPTO register.
How the verdict is decided
The worst finding wins. Conflict: a high name-risk score, a near-identical or strong logo match, or an identical live U.S. mark. Caution: a medium name-risk score, a moderately similar logo, or related live marks. Clear: nothing crosses the bar. It is the first pass of a trademark clearance search (the part that rules names out fast), not legal advice.
Questions people ask before they check brand name availability
How do I check trademark availability for a brand name?
Type the name, pick what you will sell (we map it to the Nice classes) and run the check. We compare the name against 14.3 million USPTO records and 611,000 international registrations in those classes, score the likelihood of confusion 0–100, and show the closest live marks. It is free and needs no account.
Is this a brand name checker or a trademark search?
Both. A brand name checker tells you whether the domains and social handles are free; a trademark search tells you whether someone already owns the name on the register. This page runs both at once, plus a logo check, and gives one verdict.
Can I check brand name availability and the logo together?
Yes. Add the logo and it is checked against 3.8 million registered logos three ways: the image itself, what the image depicts, and the wording inside it. The typed name is fed to the wording pass, so a stylised logo still matches by name.
Is this a trademark clearance search?
It is the first pass of one. A clearance search an attorney runs also covers state registers, common-law use and, for Europe, EUIPO-direct marks. Use this to rule names out fast and to walk into that conversation with the conflicts already found.
Does it cover international trademarks?
Yes. The name and logo checks cover WIPO's Madrid international register alongside the USPTO. Marks filed directly at national offices outside the Madrid system are not included.
