Trademark refusal rate in Brazil: Madrid System filings

54,943 international registrations on record designate Brazil. Among the 18,600 designations registered 2019–2022 (the resolved cohort we measure outcomes on), 29.6% received a provisional refusal, 2,259 (12.1%) are still refused outright, 4 partially, and 16,043 (86.3%) hold a grant of protection. That refusal rate is above the 4.4% median across the 60 most-designated offices.
